Hrithik Roshan’s sister Sunaina Roshan has long shared her health journey, from beating cervical lymphoma to reversing grade 3 fatty liver disease. Today, her social media presence serves as a space where she offers insights on nutrition, healing, and personal growth.
In a new Instagram video, the author and wellness advocate speaks candidly about another ongoing challenge: social anxiety.
Why she chose to step back from social media
Reflecting on her experience, she wrote, “There are still moments when my legs shake and my mind races faster than it needs to… but I’ve learned that stepping away doesn’t indicate fragility. It makes me resilient, because I’m choosing myself. If you feel this way too, I’m here with you.
We’re all figuring things out, one breath at a time.” In the video, Sunaina described how profoundly social anxiety can affect everyday interactions. “Social anxiety is something many people face, even if they don’t talk about it. It’s that uncomfortable sensation before entering a room. It involves overthinking every conversation and worrying about judgment, even when no one is judging you… I’ve dealt with it, and I still do,” she said.
The coping strategies that support her progress
Speaking about her physical symptoms, she explained, “When there are too many people around, my legs tremble, go numb, and feel unsteady. I need to hold onto someone for support, and because of this I’ve stepped back from social media.” Sunaina also shared the coping tools that have helped her regain stability: taking breaks from social platforms, journaling, practicing meditation, engaging in positive self-talk, and attending regular therapy sessions. “Sometimes stepping back is the only way to breathe,” she noted.
She closed with a message for others going through something similar: “If you’re feeling this way, you’re not alone. Be gentle with yourself—everyone is learning as they go.”
