Get ready for a shell-shocking crossover! Magic: The Gathering® and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are colliding in an epic Prerelease event, and you’re invited to join the battle! But here’s where it gets even more exciting: attendees will snag exclusive Magic Multiverse Promo Packs, blending universes in ways you’ve never seen before.
A few weeks ago, we accidentally gave you a sneak peek at the Magic: The Gathering® | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set during the Lorwyn Eclipsed Prerelease events. (If you missed the drama, check out our article here: https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/on-turtles-faeries-and-the-lorwyn-eclipsed-prerelease.) We promised we’d make it right, and today, we’re delivering on that promise—big time.
First, we’ve already reached out to affected stores, offering product replacements for any items they had to swap out. That’s our commitment to customer service, and it’s just the beginning.
Now, for the main event: If we brought a slice of Universes Beyond into your Magic Multiverse, why not return the favor? Starting February 27, attend the Magic: The Gathering | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Prerelease at any participating Wizards Play Network (WPN) location, and you’ll score a Promo Pack from one of these incredible sets (while supplies last): *Lorwyn Eclipsed, Edge of Eternities, Tarkir: Dragonstorm, Duskmourn: House of Horror, or Bloomburrow. *Promotion not valid in China.
But wait—what’s in these Promo Packs? Each one typically includes a promo-stamped rare or mythic rare from the featured set, another promo-stamped rare or mythic rare from Standard-legal sets (at the time of release), a basic land, and an alternate promo card. For instance, Edge of Eternities packs included gems like Starfield Shepherd, Annul, and Pull Through the Weft. Meanwhile, Lorwyn Eclipsed packs featured cards like Personify and Virulent Emissary. And yes, some packs might even come with a Magic: The Gathering Arena code card—talk about a bonus!
Here’s the catch: WPN stores are learning about this promotion at the same time you are, so give them a few days to get up to speed before you start asking questions. Prerelease events kick off globally on February 27, so mark your calendars and rally your crew. And if you’re curious about the rares and mythic rares in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, well, we accidentally spilled those beans already. Check them out here: https://magic.wizards.com/en/products/teenage-mutant-ninja-turtles/card-image-gallery.
But here’s the controversial part: Is blending universes like this a genius move or a risky gamble? Some players love the nostalgia, while others worry it dilutes the Magic experience. What’s your take? Let us know in the comments—we’re all ears!
Thank you for being part of the Magic: The Gathering community and for supporting your local game stores. Let’s make this crossover one for the history books!
