In a recent confirmation, the Trump administration revealed that the Dodgers will attend a White House ceremony this year, despite calls for the team to skip the traditional visit. A White House official exclusively shared with The Post that the team has been in communication with the administration and plans to attend, although a specific date is yet to be determined.
The Dodgers themselves have remained tight-lipped, declining to comment on the matter. However, team President Stan Kasten hinted at the visit, stating, "I don't have any news for you on that."
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts also expressed his intention to uphold tradition, saying, "I'm going to continue to try to do what tradition says and not try to make political statements."
While the date for this year's visit is still up in the air, it's confirmed that the team's trip to Washington will coincide with their first road series against the Nationals during the weekend of April 3-5. This will be the team's only visit to the capital this season.
The Dodgers have a history of visiting the White House after their World Series championships, having met with President Biden in 2021 and President Trump in 2025. Last year's visit was particularly polarizing, with full attendance from the team, including owner Mark Walter and retired pitcher Clayton Kershaw, who addressed the crowd in the East Room reception.
Clayton Kershaw emphasized the honor of visiting the White House, stating, "Getting to go to the White House, seeing the Oval Office, and meeting the President of the United States is an incredible opportunity that shouldn't be overlooked, regardless of political beliefs."
Mookie Betts, however, was the lone voice of uncertainty last year. He had previously skipped a White House trip with the Boston Red Sox after their 2018 title during Trump's first term. Betts explained, "People will interpret my actions as political, but that's not my intention. This is about celebrating the Dodgers' achievements."
